Here's the pictures of the antelope I arrowed a little over a week ago.
I had been hunting this particular antelope for 2 years with bow and
rifle. I let him walk the very last day of the rifle season last year
(2007). He was B&C then...But I hoped to get a chance to get him with a
bow. He made it through the winter and was back. The patience and hard
work paided off as I was lucky enough to kill him this archery season.
He green scores ~85 3/8" gross P/Y.
The current South Dakota state record was shot in Meade county in 2005
and net scored 84 2/8" P/Y. Two other 84 0/8" antelope tie for 2nd, all
time in SD. We'll see what happens after the 60 day dry time. Record or
not...great story.
I shot him in the brisket as he was facing me. He traveled about 60
yards before going down.
My Grandpa Gene died a couple weeks prior to the harvest of this
antelope. I arrowed this goat just south of grandpa's house on the
Haakon county line. He would have been proud. But I know he had a front
row seat from heaven.
