Sports Illustrated and Hunting????

I have a lot of passions in my life but 2 of them could be considered vices. Sports & Hunting, I'm obsessed with ESPN, I listen to Sports Talk Radio nonstop and I won't hardly miss a football game on TV. Hunting is the only thing I will do other than watch football on Sunday afternoon. I will hunt all day if the weather is right, but I will sneak back to the pickup to check the scores. With this in mind the magazines that I subscribe to are Predator Xtreme, The Varmint Hunter, and Sports Illustrated. To my surprise in my newest issue of Sports Illustrated Dated November 24th, 2008, there was a huge hunting article, perhaps it is because Jimmie Johnson was on the cover and they knew a bunch of rednecks would be buying, or perhaps because many people out there think hunting is a sport. This artical is large 4 or 5 pages and covers many parts of North America, it talks about how hunting has become less attractive to people and how animal populations are skyrocketing because of it. This is not a good thing according to Sports Illustrated and it's somewhat of a call for people to get back into the field. After some research I found that Hunting was a mainstay in Sports Illustrated for years, as you can see from the old cover I put on top of this blog, (which is copywrited by SI, I hope they don't care). I guess they like everyone else decided hunting wasn't popular enough to keep printing hunting articals, but perhaps they are back on the bandwagon. If you don't already subscribe, stop in your local bookstore or stop & rob, and purchase the latest copy of SI, you won't be disappointed.
