Black Hills Elk Hunting and Family:

Regulars to this sight know that right after whitetail opener is one of the best times to visit SoDakAdventure.com, because we have a large group of friends from all over SoDak get together for one of the best hunts any buddies can have.  This year do to circumstances out of my control this trip had to be cancled.  My wife was OK with this because she is due with our third child on November 17th, right after opening weekend (poor planning huh).  She was pretty happy the trip had to be cancled this year.  Then as luck would have it I drew a Black Hills Elk tag.  Residents of SoDak know how hard these are to get.  Needless to say the wife wasn't very happy about this, the season I drew was from 10/16 - 10/31 second season.  After talking it over we decided that I better just wait for the 3rd season that runs from 12/1 - 12/15.  This is OK with me, I have just a cow tag and I might need a vacation from a screaming baby by then (no matter how adorable, a man needs his sleep).  So those of you who look forward to checking out our Deer Camp experiences each November might be dissapointed this year.  We will however try to get you close to the action of a Black Hills Elk Hunt to make up for it.  Since I won't be able to post as many Deer Pictures this year, feel free to send me yours, along with a story, to admin@sodakadventure.com I'll be glad to post both your deer and your story.  Good Luck this year and Happy Hunting.
