This is an old story, and I admit, the blog starts to suffer when calving starts and coyote calling season is over.  I've been following this story half heartedly over the several weeks since it was first reported, but the more I hear and the more I think, I'm starting to think something is not right here.  The GF&P conducted a full investigation and found no tracks, no blood and cougar dogs could not pick up a scent. The GF&P stated that it was very unusual and had no explanation.  In fact it has now been listed as "Probable but Unconfirmed". 

I cannot figure out why someone would lie about something like this, but these attacks are so rare and almost always end up with plenty of proof.  This has no real proof in fact the scratches on his face look like something my infant does to my cheeks when Mom forgets to cut his finger nails.
